International Concert Orchestra Takes Off!
It's your anniversary, the loveliest night of the year, so get your soap with hexachlorophene and wash up for a waltz session with your love, with the International Concert Orchestra. First up is Victor 35774-A, a popular tune by the Romanian band leader Ion Ivanovici, followed by 35774-B, Over The Waves, by Juventino Rosas, who missed founding the 27 Club by one year. This record is pretty ragged, but the music is nice, so grit your teeth and head out on the floor. Next we have two by Emile Waldteufel on Victor 35798-A and B, The Skaters and Estudiantina. Then comes Victor 35927-A and B, the waltz that needs no introduction, Blue Danube (Danube Waves is probably a more accurate title for the previous tune, since, as Spike Jones informs us, the Danube is green. It probably does have waves, though) and Wedding Dance, which contains a strange vocal chorus. This is composed by Paul Lincke, whom you will remember from the earlier upload of "Glow Worm." Finally, is Merry Widow, by Franz Lehar. The beginning of this record is very jumpy, so I could only get one side recorded.
As an added bonus, I have uploaded a mystery file showing that the Victor Scroll Label might have lasted longer than normally supposed.
